Guiness needs a new home please

Hello my name is Guiness. I am a 5 year old neutered Large Munsterlander looking for a new home with the right folk who will treasure me into my old age.

At the moment I am staying with Tina who bred me, and I have been re-united with my Mum Fay, [still on the ball at nearly13 years old!] and my litter sister China who has always lived here. I must say they didn't seem all that pleased to see me at first, although I think I am rather handsome!  Once Fay 'the boss' reminded me of the house rules here they decided I was alright really.

I have had a few ups and downs. My very first owners when I was a pup didn't socialise me very well and lost interest in me when I was only 10 months old. I came back to 'Celtaur' for a little while and since then I have had a very nice lady owner and been living quite a sheltered life in rural Scotland. However my second 'mum' has had to relocate due to work and has had to move into Oxford City Centre. Despite being very upset at giving me up, she felt I would not cope with being left in a city flat while she is out all day. Therefore Tina says my next home must be my last home: it is not fair on me to keep being passed from pillar to post.

My house manners are very good, although I can open doors to let myself from room to room! I don't do any harm, I'm just looking to see where everyone is. I am a typical Munsterlander in that I need company, and I would really like to live with another older dog or bitch to follow around. I can 'yip' if I am left on my own for too long, but Tina has stopped me yipping if I am left in a room for a while. She has also pointed out that waking everyone at daylight is unacceptable too ..so I now wait quietly until someone comes to let me out in the morning!

I eat well and I am in good health. I walk nicely on a lead and come back when called. I got used to farm animals in my previous home. I have had basic agility training and I could go round a course for fun with a bit of reminding .. but I have never competed. I have an endearing trick ..if you ask me to 'high five' I will put my paw up on your hand.

I get on well with other dogs, but I am a bit wary of 'loud men' Also I don't understand noisy children and I would rather get away from them than go and play. Tina's teenage daughter Eve is ok though, and I play with her and her friends when they call round. I like to approach people in my own time and suss them out before making friends ..I don't like to be smothered with hugs ..I would like to lie quietly at your feet, and a quiet word or hand on my head means the world to me.

Tina thinks I would suit a sensible home without young children and some one who would give me the leadership I need.
